Colposcopy Clinic
At Elgin House, our Colposcopy Clinic provides fast, specialist care when you need it most. We offer just direct access to expert colposcopy services in a supportive and welcoming environment.
What is a Colposcopy:
A colposcopy is a simple, in-clinic procedure performed by a specialist gynaecologist to closely examine your cervix, vagina, and vulva. Using a speculum and a magnifying instrument called a colposcope—think of it as a pair of binoculars with a bright light—your doctor can get a clear view of any areas that may need closer attention.
To assist with diagnosis, a special fluid may be applied to highlight any abnormalities, and in some cases, a small tissue sample (biopsy) may be taken for further examination in the lab.
The procedure itself is quick and straightforward, lasting around 10-15 minutes—very similar to a smear test. While it may not be on your list of fun activities, our team is here to make sure you feel comfortable, informed, and supported every step of the way.
